Hi and welcome my name is Ron Souers and I am by no means a professional or an expert. What I do have is experience from being diagnosed as a child with ADHD and just two years ago having been re-diagnosed. Are you like me, and find it difficult to navigate the ins and outs of where you work? Do you wish that there was something that could make that just a little bit easier?

So what is a Dynamic ADHD Workspace Solution?

Basically, it is an accommodation that helps to make your job less difficult. That can either involve an action, a gadget or it could be part of a process to solving a ongoing problem. While some of them are suggestions and take a bit of practice. Others are actual tools or devices that can be used right away.

ADHD is a spectrum identity. Which means that that no two individuals are affected in the exact same way. Symptoms can vary in intensity and variety. On top of that, each work environment has its own unique set of challenges. From the office to the home to the warehouse and even restaurants you start to get the picture. And if that wasn't enough add in the fact that each workplace has its own level of understanding and acceptance of mental health. Just try to look at these solutions as a list of menu items to choose from. Some will fit quite nicely while others just won't work.

Just try to keep in mind that we are learning together!

What is this not?

This is not a one size fits all solution. What may work for me may not work for everyone. Most likely it won't. Like I said before this is a spectrum identity. What I struggle with may be something that doesn't even bother you. Always consult with a professional before applying any of these in your life.

This is not a quick fix. None of these suggestions are ever going to fix the underlying issues. A lot of these solutions take time and practice to see the desired results. All I can ask is that if you do try anything just give it some time before calling it quits. And if it doesn't work out at least you can say that you tried it out. Remember, I love to hear your feedback so that I can make a change because the last thing that I want to do is promote something that isn't working.

This is not impossible. Just try to keep in mind that at one point I really struggled to apply these solutions in my own life. Especially the breathing and basically trying to slow down things in my life. It felt like a mountain that I could never climb, but luckily, I didn't have to do it all alone. That's why I put a real emphasis on talking to a professional particularly about what you are currently struggling with. Trust me, I know that it will never be easy, but it doesn't have to be so damn hard!

A little something that has helped me...

This something that I took for granted and really didn't think that I needed to do. I mean I can remember what I need to do throughout the day right? Yeah, most days I can but I really didn't realize just how much I kept forgetting stuff like paying a bill or booking a reservation and how much that started costing me.

Taking two to five minutes each day to right out a to do list had been a real game changer. It doesn't take that long, and it really helps me focus on what is really important. One that I really like is called The To Do List Notebook to use has spaces for top priorities, for tomorrow and appoints/calls. The best part about it is the check boxes!
